Shadow MAN Asian Literary Prize 2012

December 3, 2012 by markstani

Ahead of the official December 4 longlist announcement, I’m delighted to announce the ‘Shadow’ MAN Asian Literary Prize is returning for a second year. This year’s ‘Shadow’ Jury is chaired by Matt at A Novel Approach, and the jury also includes last year’s jury chair Lisa at ANZLitLovers, Stu at Winstonsdad, and myself. You’ll be able to find links to all our long- and shortlist reviews via the icon on the right. Last year both the official and ‘Shadow’ juries picked the same winner, Kyung-sook Shin’s Please Look After Mother (though it has to be said that the verdict was far – far! – from unanimous!) The ‘Shadow’ jury’s deliberations are not intended to compete with the main Prize, rather to complement it and provoke online discussion of the highlighted titles. Watch this space!
